Itch (poem, lyric)

By Constance R.

Pull back the hammer, sound the bell
Clap of thunder, all is well
Hunger fed, heart made still
Test of patience, war of will

Sickened grin and nervous laughter,
Problem solved, tied to rafter
Breath not drawn, nervous twitch,
To and Fro, can't scratch the itch

Eyes a'flicker and tongue of flame,
Earth shatter, falling rain
Hands held tight, swept away
Briefest dark, red-ridden day

I apologize this is so late, and not very much at all... but it's something, at least.

I love the continuously vivid imagery! It's like the perpetual serving of a days troubles and sorrows. Even the most troublesome occurances are pressed through eventually. Excellent passage of time through diction =)
And don't worry about posting late, you've done a whole lot more than most of the others who are 'members'.
